Dell System Boards with bad capacitors
Written by Bill Wennlund

Don’t get stuck with bad Dell MotherboardsDell™ Technical Support (800-822-8965/extension 724-3891) will provide out of warranty coverage for OptiPlex™ SX270 USFF (Ultra Small Form Factor only), GX270 and GX280 systems with failed motherboards due to expanding or leaking capacitors.  Timeframe coverage is limited to 5 years from date of purchase, or until January 31, 2008, whichever comes first. What to look for? Look at the capacitors on the motherboard for bulging in still working pcs. Non working pc’s probably will have amber flashing light on front along with bulging or leaking capacitors. (leaking capacitors show brown on top, newer capacitors will have a K on top, while the bad ones usually have an X on top)

BrowseReporter - track employee Internet usage BrowseReporter captures the link (URL) of every visited web site through Internet Explorer. It allows companies and individuals to track the surfing habits of all PCs and users easily and invisibly. It logs the visited web site, user name, IP addresses, computer name and access times, into a password-protected encrypted file. This is very useful for organisations wanting to monitor any number of computers, employees or students to identify potential Internet policy problem areas.
